Color Symbolism

Red:In Russia red means beautiful , in China, red is the color of good luck. In the U.S. we use red for things to represent love or valentines day, its a passion color.

Purple:In Thailand, purple is worn by a widow mourning her husband's death. A “purple  heart” is a U.S. military decoration for soldiers wounded or killed in battle.

Blue: In Iran, blue is the color of mourning. In the U.S the first prize gets a blue
ribbon.
Green:In ancient Greece, green symbolized victory. In the U.S. green represents the holiday St.Patrick's Day.

Yellow:In Egypt and Burma, yellow signifies mourning. In the U.S. we often use yellow as a warning color that's why construction sites have yellow signs.

Orange: In the U.S. we used orange to celebrate Halloween. In China and Japan, orange is used to symbolize happiness and love.

Brown: In the U.S. we use brown to celebrate autumn. In China brown is used to represent earth

Black:The ancient Egyptians believed that black cats had divine powers. In the U.S. black is used for mourning.

White: White means mourning in China and Japan. In the U.S. white is usually perceived to be wearing white.
 
Gray:  In the U.S. gray represents intelligence. In the China gray represents helpfulness.
